A two-player dice race on a 7-tile board. A coin flip seats one player directly on the Throne (worth 5 pts) — that's the entire "lucky start." Each turn, whoever is farther from the Throne rolls two dice and keeps the higher (comeback mechanic); landing exactly on your opponent bumps them back to their home tile. Highest score after 16 turns wins. Built as a Node/Express + Socket.IO app with server-authoritative game state (rooms keyed by a 4-letter code, in-memory), deployed on Railway with a public domain — anyone can create a room, share the code, and play live, no login required.

Prompts & issues

Started with a brainstorm for a "chance + sandbagging" mechanic (lucky player starts advantaged, Monopoly/Risk/Uno-style catch-up). First built it as a Claude Artifact prototype, but its multiplayer db capability turned out to be org-scoped — unusable for a real opponent outside my own account. Rebuilt it as a standalone Express/Socket.IO server with the game logic moved server-side (so it can't be spoofed by the client) and deployed to Railway for a real public link.
